Important work and practical every day

Gry Støylen has been part of Brimer for an impressive 17 years. She started in the spraying department and has since developed into a versatile employee with experience from several departments.

- "I started out in spraying, and eventually I switched to cutting mats," says Gry. "I'm good with math," she smiles. Every day, Gry sees that the work she does contributes to creating products that protect and preserve important infrastructure and assets for many different industries.

For Gry, who was born and raised on Kvamsøya, Brimer means everything to the local community.

Brimer is everything for Kvamsøya. It provides jobs and is stable and important. My son works here and my partner works in the office. This company is the lifeblood of our community.

Gry's path to Brimer was not entirely straightforward. After working as a skincare professional in Larsnes for several years, she saw an ad for a position at Brimer. - I saw in the newspaper that they were advertising positions here. Helge Støylen encouraged me: 'Get out there and apply! I haven't regretted it for a second," smiles Gry.

The working environment is something Gry really appreciates.

Good colleagues

- I enjoy the people I work with. We have varied work and great colleagues. For me, a good colleague is someone I can talk to and communicate with, someone who can lift me up when I'm having a bad day," she says.

Some of our tasks are heavy work, for example in the sprayer. But with good colleagues, heavy work becomes easier and more enjoyable.

Gry has seen many changes during her years at Brimer, including an increase in international employees. "We've had a lot of great people start here, including foreigners. They're good at work and really get on with it. There's more work, and that's good!

- Just pull yourself around and have a go here. It's noisy and smelly at first, but you'll soon get the hang of it. You'll get proper training, so don't hesitate to give it a go.

Gry appreciates the flexibility Brimer offers: "They have made it possible for me to change tasks and be flexible. If they need people somewhere, I move there. It makes the work varied and interesting.

Finally, Gry reflects on the pride she feels in the products she helps to create at Brimer: "I've shown off and seen the tanks we make in use around the world. That makes me proud. We deliver to all of Norway, and several places in the world, and it's fantastic to see our products in use.
