The VA expert with local roots
Gunnar Ristesund has a long and personal history with Brimer Born and raised on Kvamsøy, his relationship with the company began as a summer temporary worker.
– I've worked here since I had a summer job, Gunnar says with a slightly nostalgic smile. "Even though I've been away doing other things, I've always returned.
Educated in data and IT, Gunnar applied to return to Brimer in 2003 and has since been a central part of the company.
I've always been interested in the company and knew we had a good product. There have been many interesting jobs here and it's never been boring.
It is clear from Gunnar that he loves and is enthusiastic about his job.
– I have looked forward to every day at work. There are always new tasks, and I have worked on different things and subjects. There is always something new and exciting to develop, and we continue to grow."
For Kvamsøya represents Brimer more than just a workplace:
Cool and open environment on Kvamsøya
– Brimer is everything for Kvamsøya. While everything else has declined, such as agriculture and fisheries, Brimer It's good for the shipping companies and everything on the island, including the cultural and sports life, which is always open to new residents.
There is also openness in the workplace. – It is very good socially. We know each other well here on Kvamsøya. It is inclusive, with a lot of humor. We can joke a bit. We also have a good environment with our colleagues in Sandvika, Ulsteinvik and Latvia. It is an inclusive community.
He encourages more people to get in touch and come to Brimer :
We welcome you. It's exciting here, with a good product that is easy to get involved in and sell. We have many great colleagues and a good environment. You can be involved in many different things up to a sale, and if you want to learn something new, there are opportunities in production, sales and development.
Burner for water and sewage
Gunnar is particularly enthusiastic when he talks about water and sewage:
Water and sanitation is not boring, it's incredibly exciting! I've seen the development and how important what we're working on is. What used to be a field dominated by older men is now full of young, hungry, and water-engaged people. It's a completely different story now.
Gunnar is so involved in water and sanitation systems that he thinks about it in his spare time too.
– When I'm out driving, I always think about where our VA facilities are. It's like a VA safari. I feel an enormous sense of pride and always want to stop and look at our facilities. It really shows how much Brimer means, not just to me and Kvamsøya, but to the entire country.
