The engineer who is close to production

Thomas Kjellevold is an engineer at Brimer, where he is not confined to the office and calculation models, but is close to both production and customers. Over the coffee machine, they often laugh out loud, discuss practical solutions for projects and create new ideas that solve problems for customers. On his way to the coffee machine, Thomas has stopped by the office of two members of the management team, received some input and advice on the way forward for a design he's working on, and now he's smiling broadly.

At Brimer , we have a unique opportunity to be close to production, as we have our own factories and skilled craftsmen close by. The combination of being close to smart people who are looking for the best solutions to protect and preserve makes everyday life good.

Thomas feels that in Brimer we get the support we need for both well-being and development. There are also opportunities to meet privately. At Brimer , initiatives have been taken for parties, paddle training and football matches with colleagues.

Constantly solving new challenges. In fiberglass

Thomas gets excited when he talks about exciting projects he has been involved in. He highlights the largest project so far in the fish processing and industry, with 12 new tanks for Biomarine Lofoten on Værøy.

Option for small caption.

- Here, the teamwork with production, project managers, us in design and not least the customer worked well. We're achieving something big and exciting together.
Before joining Brimer , Thomas hadn't worked much with fibreglass. "It's rewarding to be able to deliver quality products that are efficient, almost maintenance-free and, not least, very malleable. I enjoy creating the shape, seeing how the product turns out and being able to combine it with additional equipment and elements that the customer needs," he says.

Stable and stimulating workplace

Like many engineers, Thomas has worked in the maritime and subsea industries. With declining markets, Thomas had to look for new work. At Brimer he found a company that delivers to many different markets and is thus more stable over time.
Brimer is growing and investing in new projects, which motivates Thomas to continue after more than seven years with the company.
"There is always a need for better water and sewage infrastructure, and in addition, Brimer works with important growth industries such as closed-containment fish farms and fish processing.
Ulsteinvik, Kvamsøya and the surrounding area is a great place to grow up. I wanted my children to have a safe and good place to grow up. It really is here. In addition, there are good schools and a wide range of leisure activities in the region," he explains.
For adults, the region is also social and active. It's a short distance to many activities, and in addition to the social life at work, there are pleasant local communities that are open to newcomers." "We're used to both industry and tourism in Sunnmøre. This makes us open to new people," he says.

If you're an engineer, social and curious about learning, come to Brimer and help protect lives and infrastructure.
